How Women in Mayuge Are Growing Their Businesses Online
Mayuge, Uganda — In many rural communities, women’s financial
empowerment is a key to unlocking a family’s future — and with the growing
reach of smartphones and digital payments, that future is looking much
brighter.
At TechPath Africa,
we’re proud to be a strong partner to these women as they grow their businesses
online, connect with new customers, and increase their profits. Through our
digital literacy training, micro-loans, and solar-powered tech hubs, we’re
helping women become the innovators, marketers, and financial leaders their
families need.
Take Namaganda
Phiona, for instance, a trader from Busakira ''A'' in Mayuge. Before our
training, Phiona used her phone just for calls and social messages. Now, she
sells her produce directly to new clients through WhatsApp groups, accepts
payments by phone, and even negotiates prices with suppliers — all without
needing to travel long distances. This lets her keep more profits in her
pocket, pay for her children’s education, and contribute to her community’s
growing financial stability.
Through this
combination of education, financial tools, and community support, women in
Mayuge are turning their smartphones into powerful engines for transformation.
The result? More income for their families, greater financial independence, and
a path toward a future filled with opportunity.
